Search Engine Optimization Efforts

The UCM Web team works in conjunction with Fathom SEO, a search engine optimization consultant based in Cleveland, Ohio, to improve the rankings of Kent State Web sites in search engines. The process includes identifying keywords, adding and tweaking the meta data and visible content on Web pages, analyzing Web statistics, monitoring search engine rankings and evaluating progress.

Want your site to appear higher in search engine rankings? Want to be on the first page of Google's search results? UCM's Web Team can help you get started with some search engine optimization.

  • We conduct keyword research to determine which search terms you should use.
  • We provide counsel on site design and SEO tactics.
  • We act as a liaison for those interested in working directly with Fathom SEO at a disounted rate. For more pricing information, contact Stefanie Moore at smoore1@kent.edu.

For some search engine optimization tips and tricks as well as some SEO successes at Kent State, download a copy of a PowerPoint presentation, "Movin On Up! How to get better rankings in search engines," which was delivered at a June 2007 Marketing Advisory Task Force meeting.
