Robert Checkal, a junior public relations major, is a seasoned reporter for The Daily Kent Stater. His body of work includes interviews with top celebrities, hard news pieces and feature stories. Currently, he is the Student Recreation and Wellness Center beat reporter and writes for other independent student media such as Fusion and The Burr. While working for Flash Communications he hopes to gain a rich experience of public relations practices and applications. After graduation in May 2011, Robert plans to pursue a position at a major corporation’s in-house public relations team in New York City.
