iRPIE - Information RPIE

Research, Planning and Institutional Effectiveness (RPIE) is Kent State’s central institutional access point for information and planning resources. RPIE analyzes data and utilizes strategic planning and process improvement methods to enhance the performance and effectiveness of all levels of the University. The office also provides:

  • Critical analysis about recruitment and retention, student learning, and issues of current strategic interest for the university.
  • Assistance with department and university accreditation.
  • Institutional reporting to external agencies and other higher education institutions.
  • Collaboration to units with specialized program reviews and unit studies.
  • Support to unit-level decision-makers by providing online access to critical current and historical information.
For the next 3-5 years, RPIE's vision will be to:
  • Develop a performance management system for the University that also provides unit level information.
  • Provide planning information to Academic Affairs and Enrollment Management and Student Affairs to support recruitment and retention initiatives.
  • Enhance our ability to provide information to decision-makers via the RPIE website.
  • Explore how the University may be able to optimize its performances and resources.
  • Provide benchmarking and other supporting information on issues of current strategic interest to the institution.
  • Develop a system by which information can be shared more efficiently within the department.
