Who may nominate?
Only tenured/tenure-track and emeriti faculty at KSU may nominate someone for a DSA. Individuals may nominate only one candidate per year.Who is eligible for nomination?
Except in unusual circumstances, only full professors who have been at KSU for a full five (5) years are eligible to receive a DSA. In order to receive the award, nominees who have been at KSU for less than ten (10) years must demonstrate a record of sustained scholarship and/or creative activity since coming to KSU.An individual may only receive one DSA in a lifetime.
Finalists from the previous year will be asked if they wish to be considered for the DSA. Therefore, it is not necessary to nominate an individual who received a nomination in the previous year. How are the nominations reviewed?
Nominees are asked to provide their vitae, a statement of research interests and achievements and the names of two external referees. A committee consisting of 5-6 colleagues from cognate disciplines will be asked to serve as a review committee, chaired by a member of the DSA committee.
