Richard Stanislaw did his doctoral work at Purdue University in Political Theory and went to Law School at the University of Notre Dame. His academic interests are varied—he passed doctoral exams in Theory, American, Policy and Women's Studies. His current scholarly work focuses on the political implications of Zizek's reclaiming of the Cartesian subject; specifically on the political implications of the performative power of ideological illusions and possibility of genuine political space in the post-political era of global capitalism.
Richard regularly blogs on political and cultural issues at http://www.generalcabbage.com. He likes to surf, listen to music, and mountain bike.
