Boot/Immobilization and Tow Policy
Boot/Immobilization and Tow Policy
Parking Services is utilizing the process of immobilizing (booting) vehicles.
Although vehicles will still be towed under certain circumstances, the process of booting or immobilizing a vehicle is an enforcement technique that is easier and a less expensive alternative when compared to the cost of towing. Vehicles not claimed by 6 P.M. may be towed and impounded at additional expense to the owner/operator.
As a reminder, some of the reasons for which a vehicle may be towed/immobilized include:
- unpaid parking tickets (even if the car is currently parked legally, including at meters and in the Student Center pay lot)
- frequent violator status (9 or more tickets, paid or unpaid)
- for displaying a lost, stolen, altered, or counterfeit parking permit.
Do not attempt to move a vehicle that has been booted.
Moving the vehicle, backwards or forwards, may cause damage to the vehicle.
For those of you who find yourself in this situation, please take the time to read any warning notices that are applied to your vehicle and take the appropriate corrective action.
Please park legally.
