Draime Estate Gardens of Kent State University offers scholarships to student interns based on the eligibility requirements below.  Students must complete and fulfill their internship working requirements in order to receive their scholarships.  The scholarship offered for the 2010 internship is $1,000 awarded for use during  Fall Semester 2010.                       

Eligibility Requirements

1.      Enrolled Kent State University student in good standing.

2.      At least a 2.75 cumulative GPA.

3.      At least a 3.00 GPA in Horticulture Technology (or major area) courses.

4.      Enrolled for at least six (6) credit hours of course work during the semester in which the scholarship will be utilized (the semester following the internship).

Application Requirements

There is no application form.  To apply for the scholarship include a cover letter with your internship application that includes the following:

• your grade point averages as noted above in the Eligibility Requirements
• horticulture and other related courses completed
• activities you are involved in that are related to your major (on and off campus)
• your interest in horticulture – why you have chosen or are interested in this profession
• your personal and professional goals
• what you hope to gain from working at Draime Estate Gardens
  

Application Deadline

Submit scholarship cover letter with internship application.  Priority for internships and scholarships given to applications postmarked or emailed by February 1, 2010.
