The definition of a FlashLine communication shall be a method of electronic information exchange using either the targeted e-mail/targeted announcement or personal announcement function within the FlashLine portal. Please be advised that a request for a targeted electronic communication must comprise information deemed as official university business and meet one of the designated criteria.

Criteria:

• Campuswide critical notification.

2. Important campus deadline or other time-sensitive information for students.

• Student organization requests will not be sent as a targeted announcement. Instead, it will be posted to the Personal Announcement channel.

3. Important changes in student services.

4. Announcement of official policies or changes in policy.

5. Announcement from governance groups (USS/Faculty Senate/GSS).

If your request falls outside of the criteria parameters, you may still use request form so that your information is submitted to one of these other communication vehicles:

1. E-calendar (if event based)
2. e-Inside (for faculty, staff)
3. e-Inside Management Update (for management)
4. e-Inside Message Boards
