Students who complete this graduate program are licensed to work at any level K-12 as a Library/Media specialist.
Master of Arts: Journalism Educator Specialization within the Reporting and Editing Concentration
The same Master of Arts degree for journalism educators is also available online for those who cannot attend on-campus classes at Kent State. The program emphasizes skills and theory teachers can study about today and use in their classrooms tomorrow. From coaching a novice news writer to gaining strategies to protect students’ First Amendment rights, the range of course content covers what teachers and advisers need to know to be effective journalism educators.
The Master’s of Technology graduate program provides students the opportunity to gain current knowledge and skills in technology-based fields. The program also provides flexibility to meet the needs of both traditional and non-traditional students. Many of the courses are offered through distance learning and the Web, giving students greater access to the graduate program at all eight Kent State campuses.
Students who wish to enter or advance their education in the public service field can complete this MPA graduate program by participating in web-based programs and online discussions.
School of Library and Information Science 12-12-12 ProgramKent State University School of Library and Information Science (SLIS) has the only accredited MLIS program in Ohio. Most of the courses will be offered by interactive, two-way video conferencing to 3-4 external locations.
