Support is provided to develop distance education in any of the three delivery formats supported by the University. For PC-based Video Conferencing (iLinc) support, contact Jim Raber.
For Room-based Video Conferencing (VTEL) support, contact Jim Raber.
For Web-based Courses, using WebCT Vista, please complete the Online Course Development Form. The FPDC will, by summer, be providing training on integrating Vista into your teaching. They also provide individual consultations on using Vista to improve the effectiveness of your teaching.
Important Definitions:
Supplemental- Technology used to complement a traditional learning experience (online syllabus, Powerpoint presentations, course notes, etc.)
Blended or Hybrid- A mix of face-to-face and online learning experiences. Course schedules are altered.
Distance Learning- Course exists solely online. Interaction may be synchronous (facilitated) or asynchronous (self-paced).
