Adult StudentsThe Senior Guest Program at Kent State University allows Ohio residents age 60 years and older to take regular university classes on a space-available, non-credit, tuition-free basis. Senior Guests pay any special course fees and are responsible for purchasing textbooks and other class supplies. Many seniors attend Anthropology, Art, English, Geology, History, Music, Philosophy, Political Science and Psychology undergraduate classes. See the schedule of classes for a complete list of courses at http://www.registrars.kent.edu/ScheduleOfClasses.

Senior Guest students are encouraged to do the assignments and to participate fully in class discussion and activities, but always at the discretion of the instructor. Taking exams is optional. A senior guest ID card lets you use the university library and a Golden Buckeye card lets you park for free in the student center lot for two hours.

The registration period for the Senior Guest Student program is immediately prior to the start of each semester. See below for upcoming registration period dates. Senior Guest registrations are taken in-person only in the Office of Continuing and Distance Education, Schwartz Center, Room 204. You must bring proof of age with you to register. The Office of Continuing and Distance Education will notify Senior Guests of their permission to attend the courses they have selected. There is metered parking available on the north and east sides of the building for your convenience.

All registrations must be submitted through the Office of Continuing and Distance Education. Late registrations will not be accepted. For questions or more details call the Office of Continuing and Distance Education at 330-672-3100.

REGISTRATION DATES:

Spring 2010 classes begin January 19 - registration period is January 11-15 only.
