The Kent State Speech Team offers the opportunity to compete regionally and nationally in a wide variety of events. No previous experience necessary. All majors welcome.

It provides students with a forum to develop professional relationships outside the classroom. Students have the opportunity to participate in academic, professional and scholarly activities. Contact: Dr. Paul Haridakis, pharidak@kent.edu Lambda Pi Eta is a national honor society affiliated with the National Communication Association. It fosters excellence in communication and encourages advanced study through opportunities for scholarship and service at the local, state and national levels. Top undergraduate students within the school are selected for membership in the Upsilon Chapter. Contact: Dr. Nichole Egbert, negbert@kent.edu The Communication Graduate Student Association provides a scholarly, professional and social network for graduate students in the school. Graduate students are represented in university and school decision-making though the association. The CGSA provides mentoring and a forum for graduate students to pursue and discuss their special interests.Contact: Dr. Paul Haridakis, pharidak@kent.edu The Kent State University Intercollegiate Mock Trial team provides students with the opportunity to learn about the U.S. judicial process and to develop their analytical and communication skills by trying a court case from start to finish. Glyphix is a student-run design studio with a 1250-square-foot facility holding an office conference room and a 10-workstation studio. As one of the first programs of its kind in the United States, Glyphix serves as a prototype for many student work-study design groups on other university campuses.

| The KSU Ad Club is an official student chapter of the American Advertising Federation, a national organization that represents the profession of advertising. On the other side of the Ad Club is the Handsome Duckling Advertising Agency where students produce advertising campaigns for real local clients.

PRSSA connects students with working PR professionals locally and nationally. As an award-winning organization, PRSSA Kent also serves as a public relations counselor for many on-campus organizations.Contact: Michele Ewing, Faculty Advisor,meewing@kent.edu The Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) is dedicated to the perpetuation of a free press through support of the First Amendment that guarantees of freedom of speech and of the press. It promotes inclusion and diversity in the classroom and in student media. INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE AND KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT
The Information Society, founded by IAKM students, is targeted to help all students and the IAKM program. Members of this organization
discuss information technology, learn proper study methods and socialize with their fellow students.

Columbus/Associated Library Science Students of Ohio (C/ALSSO) organizes a variety of activities, including programs of interest and sponsored social events throughout the year. Contact: Ted Morris, Faculty Advisor, tamorris@kent.edu The American Library Association (Kent State) Student Chapter and the Associated Library Science Students of Ohio (ALSSO) have joined forces to plan and encourage academic, professional and social involvement for graduate students. The organizations serve as a conduit to the school for student opinions and concerns. Master's graduates with cumulative GPAs of 3.75 or better, superior potential for leadership and who are in the top 15 percent of their graduating class, are eligible for membership.
